Excavator on an open dirt lot with a tree line behind it, near Cadott, Wisconsin

clear

Clear and cut to grade

Brush and topsoil come off and get stockpiled, then the site goes down to the elevation the build actually needs. Nothing is built on black dirt.

Excavator installing drain tile along a driveway

drain

Drain tile while the ground is open

Tile and waterproofing go in before anything gets backfilled. Doing it later means digging the same hole twice, and the second dig is the expensive one.

ICF insulated foam wall formwork braced on a foundation, with the crew working

form

Form the walls

Poured walls or insulated foam walls, known as ICF, depending on what the house is. Either way the forms get braced and checked before a truck is ordered.

Crew pouring a large indoor commercial concrete floor slab

pour

Pour and finish

The pour is the fast part and the finish is the part you live with. Floats, joints and edges are set while the concrete is still working.

Excavator backfilling around a freshly poured foundation on a rural Wisconsin site

backfill

Backfill and grade out

Backfill goes in once the walls can take it, and the finished grade runs water away from the building instead of into it.

Covered manure pit built by Cloverbelt Construction on a Chippewa County farm

The one call, the whole job

We handle the parts most concrete outfits won’t touch.

Drain tile for a wet field. A manure pit for a dairy. An ag pad big enough to turn a loader on. That is the same company that will stamp your patio and pour your basement walls, which is the whole point of keeping the excavators and the concrete crew under one roof.

Commercial building foundation under construction on a winter job site near Cadott, Wisconsin

On the job

A commercial foundation, poured through a Wisconsin winter

Frost does not wait for a nice week. Footings go in, walls get formed and stripped, and the backfill happens on the schedule the building needs rather than the one the weather would prefer. It is the same crew, the same trucks and the same phone number the whole way through.

  • Site cleared, dug and drained by our own machines
  • Footings, poured walls and ICF where the build calls for it
  • Slab poured, finished and backfilled by the same crew

Before you call

The questions we get asked most

Forty miles in any direction from the shop in Cadott. That covers most of Chippewa County and a good part of the country around it. If you are close to the edge of that, call and ask rather than assuming the answer is no.

Licensed, bonded and insured, and a member of the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association. Ask for the paperwork when we come out to look at the job and you will get it.

Both. Alongside residential foundations and flatwork we install drain tile, put in manure pits and take on other agricultural work, and we pour for commercial buildings as well.

Yes. Decorative work is its own part of the business: coloured, textured and stamped concrete, stencilling and staining, stamped patios and interlocking stone. We also work on stonework that is already there to get more life out of it.

We do. Insulated foam walls, known as ICF, go up for homes alongside our poured foundations, retaining walls and basement finishing.

Call the office at (715) 289-4098 and ask. Hours move with the season and the jobs that are running, so we would rather tell you than post something that is wrong half the year.
